  2. "It’s been a year since Live Soundtrack had first hit the vaults of Drugstore ; returnal deemed to be spellbinding and worth the wait. This time around, gourmet of avant-flavoured visual delights is consisting of mournful tributes to recently passed Canadian experimental filmmakers Josephine Massarella and an American, Robert Todd ; we’re also screening one of the highlights of last year’s edition of Center for Cultural Decontamination’s Unforeseen festival – a poem of visual decay and interrupted radio signals, Mike Rollo’s “Farewell Transmission”. One of the hidden gems of Belgrade’s techno scene, Cyan, will be playing his recently released EP “Ascension” with a visual counterpart designed to engulf and swarm your senses. Designated party-madhatter Yva & the Toy George is coming from Rome to rock your world in a rendition of her second LP “Slavia Divinorum”, a still unheralded masterpiece of hot multicultural rhythms, wacky pop-cultural references and feminist and queer tropes explored via electro-pop. And much much more! Join us for another night of audio-visual sorcery and lucid dreaming ending with a frenetic dancing queen climax!

  3. Yva and the Toy George plays "Slavia Divinorum"

Serbo-italian M.I.A making protest love songs , while dancing and polyphonic singing with the pygmies in the streets of Congo . A long lost member of Raincoats discovering Lora Logic’s passion for jovial exotica interspersed with freaky cumbia. Yugo-Swedish disco queen permanently in love with the doppelganger singer of Plavi Orkestar fighting the troups of species of macho turbotronicus in Serbistan. Wicked pagan witch unleashing her electro spells over a bed of heretical habibi passions from One Thousand and One Nights. Symbiosis of woman and machine, tropical and synthetical fruit, in technicolor, comes back to to make us scream, sweat, and burst in joy, while performing her new LP “Slavia Divinorum” for the first time in Belgrade this year.

  4. Cyan plays Ascension EP

Igor Maršićević is a graphic designer and electronic producer from Belgrade, who has two releases under his belt. By mixing Detroit techno influences with Southpacific and Balearic rhythms, and fusing vocal samples with deconstructed chill-out music he creates a fresh blend of melodic techno drenched in reverb and entrancing athmospheres. On his second EP Ascension he even chimes in a few echoes of Arthur Russell’s otherworldiness to keep us startled.

  5. Beer van Geer & Marko Jevtić

Marko Jevtić, also known as one half of Belgrade's electro-acoustic duo Ponton, builds layers upon layers of reverb, using acoustic guitar and repetition to open audience’s perception to his panorama of dream-like textures, a closer view of the mystical landscapes in the mist or mumbling inside fragile cloud forms.

  6. KSEA

Nom de plume of Ivan Tasić, a newcomer exploring monolithic structures of massive guitar drones and sustained tones saturated in fx exercises. His cinematic journeys turn out very vivid and engrossing, inciting a more warmer and organic approach than granular synthesis has to offer. He has released his first LP “Indignation” for local label Tribal Rajber earlier this year.

  7. Asuuncion

Asuuncion is ¼ of Live Soundtrack’s ensemble Old Soviet Dogs. Under this guise he’s veering off into more experimental and noisier territories, when not busy handling tremolo melodies drenched in nostalgia and bliss of slow decay.

  10. Josephine Massarrella - 165708 (CA, 2017, 7')

Exploring the capacity of the medium to express various notions of time, the film begins with a woman looking out from the shoreline. This acts as a point of departure to disparate yet interconnected sequences which prompt the viewer to engage in a structurally unique mode of inquiry and experience. A dynamic original score by the acclaimed composer Graham Stewart accompanies the film.

  11. Josephine Massarrella - Light Study (CA, 2013, 14')

"Light Study" is a poetic examination of the wetlands, forests, and ecosystems of the Niagara Escarpment. Meticulously filmed over several seasons, it explores the unique landscape of the Bruce Trail using 16mm single frame photography. Here, nature presides over an ephemeral human element, its primordial essence both medium and agent of light's eternal change. Soundtrack composed by Graham Stewart, member of the experimental music collective Viosac.

  12. Mike Rollo - Farewell Transmission (CA, 2017, 14')

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation opened the doors of the CBK Transmitter Station in 1939 to serve the prairie region of Canada. Farewell Transmission is equal parts indexical record of the demolition of CBK in 2015 and subjective response to the residual media documenting the event. The building is framed with tension preceding its destruction: emulsion pulsates as if with decades of radio transmission, creating an unsettled eulogy for a cultural institution.
